The Lytle House Wedding in Chicago

Bride and groom walking together outdoors after their Chicago wedding, surrounded by lakeside greenery and natural light.

Maeve and Vince’s wedding at The Lytle House was one of those perfectly laid-back Chicago celebrations. Tucked in the Edgewater neighborhood, this charming wedding venue offers a peaceful, garden-style escape right in the middle of the city. It was the ideal setting for a day that felt intimate, honest, and full of heart.

As a Chicago wedding photographer, I’m always drawn to venues that let people be fully themselves—and The Lytle House does just that. With its ivy-covered courtyard and minimal indoor space, it creates a beautiful flow that encourages guests to relax and be present.

An Unscripted and Personal Celebration

Their ceremony took place in the courtyard, surrounded by greenery and the people who mean the most to them. From the start, the atmosphere was easygoing and full of warmth. There were no over-the-top timelines or distractions—just real moments unfolding as they came.

After the ceremony, guests stayed outside for cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing under the evening sky. The entire day happened in one space, which made everything feel more connected and relaxed.

A Few Favorite Moments

  • The way Maeve and Vince smiled at each other during the vows
  • Guests laughing and mingling under the trees during cocktail hour
  • A spontaneous dance party that kicked off right after dinner
  • The quiet in-between moments—the ones that often say the most

This is the kind of wedding I love to document. Not overly staged, not rushed—just people gathered together in a space that holds meaning.
