Sydney and Adam had the most brilliant idea—using the CTA train as the backdrop for their Chicago engagement session. As a Chicago wedding photographer who loves documentary-style moments, I was all in.
We started at the station, capturing candid shots of them waiting for the train. The energy of the city, the rhythm of passing trains, and the buzz of people moving around us created such an electric atmosphere—it made every frame feel alive.
Once the train pulled in, we jumped on and kept shooting. The interior had this timeless charm that paired perfectly with their style. It felt less like a photoshoot and more like a real-life date I happened to be documenting. The CTA train wasn’t just a setting—it became part of their story.
As we rode from one stop to another, we leaned into spontaneity. No rigid posing, just real emotion and motion. It’s what I love most about being a documentary wedding and engagement photographer in Chicago. It’s not about the perfect frame, but about real connection—and this shoot had plenty of it.
These kinds of engagement sessions are why I do what I do. Sydney and Adam brought their full selves and trusted me to capture it honestly. I’m so thankful they invited me along for the ride—literally. This Chicago train engagement session will stay with me for a long time.
