City vibes, candid moments, and a cozy coffee date in Chicago
There’s something about a Chicago engagement session that just feels real. The city has its own rhythm, and I love building sessions around places that actually matter to you. For this shoot, we kept it simple and true to their everyday life: starting at a Chicago Blue Line train station, then slowing things down with a cozy coffee date at Cafe Robey.
Engagement Photos at a Chicago Train Station (Blue Line)
Train stations make such a fun backdrop for documentary engagement photos. The movement, the leading lines, and the “we’re just out together” vibe makes everything feel natural. No over-posing, no pressure, just walking, laughing, and letting the city do its thing.
If you want engagement photos that feel candid and not overly staged, a CTA train stop is honestly one of the best ways to capture real connection in a way that still looks cinematic.
Cozy Cafe Robey Photos in Chicago
After the train station, we headed to Cafe Robey for a more relaxed part of the session. The warm tones, the coffee, and the laid-back atmosphere made it easy for them to settle in and just be together. It felt like a real date, which is exactly what I want engagement sessions to feel like.
Planning Your Chicago Engagement Session
If you’re planning your engagement photos and want something that feels like you, I always recommend picking two locations with different vibes, like:
- a train stop or city walk
- then coffee, drinks, or a cozy indoor spot
That mix gives you variety while keeping the session relaxed and real.
If you’re looking for a Chicago engagement photographer and love documentary, storytelling-driven photos, I’d love to connect.
